Singing in the Rain : 21st - 25th October 2008

'Singing in the Rain' revolves around Hollywood's manic shift from silent movies to the new 'talkies'. The plot introduces a leading lady who, after having found fame in the silent films, does not transfer so well to those with sound! This is due to her having an irritating shrieky and nasal voioce with a lower class New 'Yawk' accent To avoid the obvious failure of the production, another girl is selected to 'dub' her voice! This results in the perfect solution... until the hoax is revealed.

The most famous song from this show, without a doubt, is 'Singing in the Rain' itself, which in the film was danced by Gene Kelly. A further tribute was made to this song more recently by the comic duo, Morecambe and Wise.

A lighthearted show to be enjoyed by all the family!!
