ELODS - Join us - Performing Musicals in North London and Hertfordshire since 1953

Join us We welcome and are always seeking new members and helpers. Whether your ambitions are to play leading parts or just to sing in the chorus, we always need new faces - so come along to one of our rehearsals or meet us in the pub to get a feel for who we are and what we do. We also really need people to help behind the scenes with costumes, set building, front of house and backstage for each show - these roles are perhaps more important than performing for the company. Fun, fun, fun	Rehearsals We rehearse twice a week from 8pm to 10 or 10:30pm. Rehearsals take place in two different venues, both based in Winchmore Hill. Tuesdays we are at the United Reformed Church, Compton Road. See map. Fridays we practice at the Methodist Church on Green Lanes. See map.
	Joining details In order to join the company and take part in musicals, you will need to do a small audition in front of the committee. This is a simple check on basic singing and movement ability - don't worry too much about it as we are not that demanding. The following subscriptions are required to join the society. Annual membership - Ł30 Show fee (per show) - Ł70 (if these are out of your price range, don't let that put you off - we can be flexible ).
Other gigs We sometimes perform concerts for fundraising and charity. We recently performed a selection of show numbers and songs and raised some funds for the company as well as a worthy charitable cause. In previous years we have performed in fundraising efforts for childrens hospices. We have a large repertoire of numbers from all the well known shows and we are available for cabaret or concert performances for social or fund raising events at your club or society.	The music man Our resident Musical Director (M.D.) is Mark Newport who is doing his umpteenth show for ELODS. His day job includes work on current west end productions Les Miserables, Bombay Dreams and The King and I. Previous credits include Phantom and Cats. He has MD'd at Sadler's Wells and conducted for Opera East on six national tours.
